Harry Miller spent four years in prison for a robbery he did not commit. He was convicted in 2003 of an aggravated robbery at a convenience store in Salt Lake City. The robbery occurred three years earlier, when Mr. Miller was in Louisiana recovering from a stroke. His conviction was the result of mistaken eyewitness identification. Based on proof that he was in Louisiana at the time of the crime, state officials agreed to stipulate to Mr. Miller’s factual innocence and complete exoneration. Mr. Miller is the second person exonerated under Utah’s non-DNA factual innocence statute.
